Jaipur to Jodhpur

Start your day early, ideally between 6 and 6:30 AM, so you can get out of Jaipur before traffic builds up. The first few hours on the highway are the easiest and most pleasant, with cooler temperatures and lighter traffic around Ajmer and Beawar. This early start also gives you flexibility for relaxed breaks instead of rushing through the drive. As you get closer to Jodhpur in the afternoon, the landscape opens up and the pace naturally slows down. Plan to reach the city by late afternoon or early evening, which leaves enough time to check in, rest, and still step out for a short walk or sunset view if you feel up to it. Keep sightseeing light on this day, the focus is on completing the drive comfortably and settling in, especially if you plan to explore Jodhpur or continue onward the next day.

Begin your day early with a visit to Mehrangarh Fort if not done on Day 1, giving yourself enough time to explore the fort complex, museums, and panoramic views over the Blue City. Once you exit the fort, head straight to Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, located at its base. From here make a brief stop at Toorji Ka Jhalra, a beautifully restored stepwell near the old city that’s easy to visit without adding travel time.

After lunch and a short rest, plan your afternoon around Umaid Bhawan Palace. and if time permits can visit Mandore Garden. By evening, you can return to your hotel to relax and prepare for an early start the next day or continue onward toward Jaisalmer if you are extending your road trip deeper into western Rajasthan.
